Sometimes something wonderful still needs just a little extra “something-something” 🎄 Like this adorable banner from artist Aimee Ferre that I picked up at the The Holiday Market slc (formerly known as the JeniB Market).
When I hung it behind this Santa Christmas display in my great room, the edges just blended into the natural grasscloth wallpaper inside my bookshelves 🫤 I didn’t love that.
BEFORE: The “Before” Banner is so great, but the edges of the natural color banner just blends right in with the natural woven wallpaper inside my booksheves. I felt I need to somehow define the edges of the banner.
What to do? 🤷♀️ I dug through my drawers of trimmings and found the perfect solution. Two layers of trim. One in multi shades of green pompoms, topped with another woven green trim.
Adding the trim was a quick and easy as ironing! I used a little Heat n’ Bond Hem Tape to iron on the green trims. In less than a half hour I’d added some color to the edges of my banner. Now, instead of fading into the backround, the banner creates a focal point, drawing the eye into the bookshelf and the fun Gingerbead Santa Christmas scene!

AFTER: Adding green pom pom trim to the edges of the banner creates a focal point, drawing the eye inward to the gingerbread Santa scene.
